Minor Girl Rape Convict Gets 5 Yrs Imprisonment in Mayurbhanj

Mayurbhanj: The rape convict of a minor girl in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district was awarded Five years of rigorous imprisonment. The judgement was passed by special POCSO court Judge Dura Charan Mishra.

Besides this, the judge also imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 on the convict. He added that if the convict fails to pay the fine, the rigorous imprisonment will increase by one year.

The accused, identified as Mithai Nayak had raped a three-year-old girl. He sexually arrested the minor girl while she was playing on the village road at Dakadiha under Bahalada police station limits in Mayurbhanj district on October 2, 2019.

Based on the complaint filed by the victim’s parents, the Bahalada police arrested Mithai and forwarded him to court.
