NCW Takes Cognizance of Death of Girl Who was Dragged Under Vehicle in Delhi

New Delhi: The National Commission for Women (NCW) has taken cognizance of the death of a girl when her scooty was hit by a car and she was dragged under the vehicle for a few kilometres in the Sultanpuri area of Delhi.

NCW Chairperson Rekha Sharma has written to Delhi Police Commissioner to conduct a fair and time-bound investigation into the matter.

The Commission has also sought that the victim’s post-mortem must be conducted to ascertain whether the victim was sexually assaulted or not and to invoke relevant provisions in the FIR if allegations levelled by the victim’s mother are found to be true.

According to reports, the 23-year-old woman was dragged by a car for around four kilometres from Sultanpuri to Kanjhawala in Delhi after her scooter collided with the vehicle.

Delhi Police has registered the case in the matter and the investigation is on. All five accused have been arrested by the police.
