New Testament is here, forget Fastag! Now toll tax will be deducted from the number plate

New Delhi:  Many Indian governments are bringing new laws. After that, the vehicle does not stop at the toll plaza. The government is coming up with a new way to collect tax to reduce crowding at toll plazas. It is called the Automatic Number Plate Reader System. Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari is running a pilot project in this regard. Through which the charge will be taken based on the distance traveled by the vehicle on the toll road.

In addition, the government is also considering GPS-based toll collection. Where there will be GPS-based toll connectivity and vehicles will no longer have to stop at toll plazas. Similarly, the toll will be aggregated according to the prescribed distance. Nitin Gadkari says that the FASTag law has reduced congestion on Indian roads.

Gadkari also said that the waiting time at the toll plaza was 8 minutes in the year 2018-19. With the introduction of FASTag, the waiting time for vehicles between 2020-21 and 2021-22 was reduced to 47 seconds. However, there are still some delays at toll plazas leading to congestion in some cities and congested areas.

Gadkari said that Advanced Traffic Management Systems (ATMs) are being installed on all new national highways and existing 4-plus-lane national highways to attract users to safe and easy traffic operation.

The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways plans to phase out all toll plazas and FASTag soon. Instead of FASTag, money will now be deducted from people’s accounts. No need to stop on the way.

A pilot project has been started for this. And after the implementation of this scheme, the toll money will be deducted from his bank account after the photo of the lane number plate is taken by the camera. There are plans to remove the toll plaza and install cameras. The Union Transport Minister said that this camera will read the number plate of the lane and deduct the toll tax directly from the bank account.
