NIA Crack Down on Terrorist-Gangster Nexus; Raids at 72 Locations

New Delhi: To shatter a major gangster-terrorist nexus in the country, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) is carrying out raids at 72 locations across the country. NIA sleuths are conducting raids in different locations in Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Rajasthan, Haryana, and Delhi-NCR.

The house of an arms supplier in Pilibhit in Uttar Pradesh is being intensely searched by NIA officers. According to NIA sources, the arms clandestinely procured by this gangster have Pakistan origin.

The NIA has interrogated dozens of gangsters part of Lawrence Bishnoi and Neeraj Bawana gangs and the raids were launched based on the information gathered during the questioning, reported India Today. A large number of arms and ammunition were recovered during the raids on Tuesday.

The NIA has collected ample evidence of Pakistan’s ISI and Indian gangster nexus. It has already conducted four rounds of raids so far. During these raids, several gangsters have been arrested and charged under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act. A huge cache of weapons was recovered from these gangsters.

In October 2022, the NIA conducted raids at over 50 locations in five states to unearth the nexus between terrorists, gangsters, and drug traffickers. Gangsters and drug smugglers are support bases of terrorist outfits in the country.
