NMC Approves 100 MBBS Seats for Kalahandi Medical College

Kalahandi: The National Medical Commission (NMC) approved 100 MBBS seats for Kalahandi Medical College and Hospital.

Informing about the development, the Odisha Health and Family Welfare department tweeted, “Happy to share that National Medical Commission has approved the opening of a Govt Medical College at Bhawanipatna, Kalahandi, with the admission of 100 MBBS seats from the academic session 2023-24.”

The infrastructure required for the medical college is developed on 36 acres of land at Bhangabari, on the outskirts of Bhawanipatna.

The construction work of the academic building is underway and is expected to be completed soon.

The Kalahandi Government Medical College and Hospital (MCH) has been set up at an investment of over Rs 200 crore.

It is pertinent to mention here that the NMC had also approved 100 MBBS seats for Keonjhar medical college in August last year. Teaching at Maharaja Sriram Chandra Bhanja Deo University (MSCBD) University, Baripada, will begin in the 2023-24 academic year as well.
