Nude Protest by a Man in Vatican Church Against Ukraine War

A man threw away his clothes and stood naked on the main altar of St. Peter’s Basilica in Vatican City to protest against the war in Ukraine.

The inscription on the back of this yet-to-be-identified protestor read, the children of Ukraine should be saved. The incident occurred on Thursday (local time) just before the church was to be closed.

Photos of the protesting naked man went viral on social media.

The man had self-inflicted cuts on his body from his fingernails, reported news agency Reuters. He was taken into custody by the Vatican guards and handed over to Italian police.
