Odisha Police, STF Nab Fugitive Inter-State Drug Smuggler in Assam

Bhubaneswar: An inter-state drug smuggler was arrested in Guwahati by a joint team of Odisha Police and STF with the support of Assam Police. The arrested interstate drug smuggler was identified as Salim Ahmed, a resident of Manipur staying in Assam’s Guwahati.

It is alleged that Salim is part of a drug cartel that smuggles contraband to Odisha. During the investigation of this case, the Odisha investigators seized brown sugar of over one kilogram, a Hyundai Santro Xing car, and other incriminating materials. Earlier two accused were arrested and forwarded to the court.

Recently arrested Salim is suspected to be the key person in this drugs smuggling racket.

Salim was hiding in Guwahati. After arrest in Assam, he was produced in a Guwahati court for his transit remand. After arrival in Odisha, the arrested drug smuggler will be produced in the court of District & Sessions Judge-cum-Spl. Judge, Cuttack.
