Odisha To Get Slight Relief From Heatwave Under Nor’wester Influence

Bhubaneswar: After the scorching heat wave during the past few days, the State is likely to get some relief in the form of blessings from the rain god.

India Meteorological Department (IMD) has withdrawn the warning that was issued for heat waves for next 24 hours.

The weather agency has has forecast a drop in maximum temperature (day temperature) by 2°C – 4°C in most places of Odisha over the next three days.

The influence of Nor’westers was witnessed in the twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack since early morning on Friday. Cuttack witnessed stormy winds since the morning, which has brought much-needed relief to the people. Likewise, citizens in the capital city of Bhubaneswar also got relief from the scorching heat in the morning.

It is worth mentioning here that normal life across the state was disturbed as most places have been recording temperatures above 40°C for the last five-six days. On Friday, the maximum temperature of 44.2°C was recorded at Jharsuguda.
