Odisha Vigilance Arrests Gram Rozgar Sevak in Angul While Taking Bribe

Anugul: Vigilance officials arrested a Gram Rozgar Sevak (GRS) Jadumani Majhi in the Chhendipada Block of Angul district on Friday while he was accepting a bribe. The GRS was posted in Machakata GP under the Chhendipada Block.

Majhi was caught red-handed while he was accepting a bribe of Rs 4000 for online geotagging of his completed Pradhan Mantri Awas ( house) and recommendation of the release of the final house completion bill as well as to facilitate bonus in his favour for completion of the house under MGNREG scheme within the stipulated time.

The entire bribe money was seized from Majhi’s possession. Following the trap, vigilance officials conducted simultaneous searches at two locations related to Majhi, to probe the  Disproportionate Assets (DA) angle.

In this connection, Cuttack Vigilance PS case no 31/2023 U/s-7PC Amendment Act, 2018 has been registered.
