Bhubaneswar: Odisha school students will get cyber security training. The commissionerate police have announced it keeping in mind the increasing number of cyber crimes.

The primary aim of this special program is to spread awareness among school students.

Due to the rise in crimes against children, spurt in child pornography, growing trend of negativity among youths, and misuse of mobile phones the minds of students are disturbed. Awareness of cyber security will be helpful to reduce crimes.

According to sources, a five-member, cyber security club will be formed in every school. Furthermore, a WhatsApp group will be created to send alert messages and other important instructions to the staff who are in charge of teaching students.

Students will also be given training on the negative impact of drugs and other addictive substances. The negative impact of social media, misuse of the internet, and daily views of pornography will also be taught.

“Not only cyber security, but our outreach program also aims to impart education on traffic management, sensitize students on suicides, elopement with boyfriends/girlfriends, and drug and alcohol abuse. This is a well-thought idea to reach out to students and spread awareness,” said Police Commissioner Soumendra Priyadarshi.
