One UP Doctor has 83 Hospitals Registered in His Name!

Lucknow: At times non-medical practitioners run medical facilities illegally by getting them registered in the name of doctors. It was found that one doctor has 83 hospitals registered in his name in Meerut, Kanpur, and various other districts of western Uttar Pradesh.

Usually, persons who are not medical practitioners obtain a license in the name of a doctor from the health department to operate hospitals, clinics, and pathology labs. This scam was revealed during the license renewal application verification of private medical facilities in Uttar Pradesh.

Online verification of certificates revealed that several medical facilities were registered in the name of a few doctors.

It was found that 449 medical facilities in and around Agra were being illegally run in the name of 15 doctors. Notices were sent to these doctors.

President of the Indian Medical Association (Agra), Dr OP Yadav condemned such practices and demanded the government to take strict action against such centres and medical practitioners associated with them.
