Over 470 Bottles of Cough Syrup Seized in Balangir; 3 Arrested

Balangir: Over 476 bottles of cough syrup were seized by police during a surprise raid near Sanuden village ground in Khaprakhol block under Patnagarh sub-division of Odisha’s Balangir district. The cops also seized cash amounting to Rs 7,500 and two motorcycles.

Police have arrested three people in this connection.

The accused were identified as Rashmiranjan Bariha, Ramesh Bariha, and Seshadev Seth.

According to reports, Rashmiranjan and Ramesh had come on their bikes and were waiting for buyers to sell cough syrup at the Sanuden village ground when Khaprakhol police conducted a raid. Police seized 400 bottles of cough syrup, Rs 7,500 in cash, and two motorcycles from their possession.

Earlier, over 33 people were arrested for allegedly being involved in the illegal cough syrup trade in Odisha’s Balangir district.
