Pakistani Infiltrator Shot Dead in Poonch of Jammu & Kashmir

Srinagar: A Pakistani intruder was shot dead along the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday. According to sources, the deceased was suspected to be linked to some terrorist outfit.

The infiltrator was traced and challenged by the troops deployed in the Balakote sector in the Mendhar sub-division while he was trying to cross the border to enter India.

When the intruder paid no heed to the repeated warnings, he was shot at. The intruder could not flee back into Pakistan and died on the spot. Drug and IED explosives were recovered from the slain intruder. Search operation underway

The area has been cordoned off and an investigation is on.
