Pastor Arrested Under POCSO in TN for Sexual Harassment of Woman for 5 Yrs

Chennai: Vinoth Joshua, a 40-year-old pastor was arrested in Tamil Nadu under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act for sexually assaulting a woman for five years since she was 15 years old.

Legal action was initiated against the pastor when the victim registered a complaint with the Kadambur All Women Police Station. In her complaint, the victim alleged that Paster Vinoth Joshua had started to sexually assault her when she was 15 years old in 2018.

The arrested pastor hails from Vellore and was serving in Aseervadha Sagodhara Sabhai Pentecostal Church in Keezhakottai village.

The victim stated that she had got married in 2022 and at present she is eight months pregnant. But recently the pastor Vinoth Joshua has contacted her through WhatsApp and has also started harassing her. After initial investigation, a police team from Kadampur arrested Pastor Vinoth Joshua in Madurai.

A case under POCSO Act was registered against the arrested pastor and further investigation is underway.
