PM Modi Inaugurates 100 Watt FM Transmitters 

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched 91 FM transmitters with a 100 W output in Telangana via video conference. It will help to boost radio connectivity throughout the nation.

The 91 new 100 W FM transmitters are deployed in 18 States and 2 Union Territories in total, 84 districts.

This expansion has placed a special emphasis on improving coverage in border regions and aspirational districts. Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, West Bengal, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Telangana, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Ladakh, and the Andaman & Nicobar Islands are among the States and UTs that are covered. An additional 2 crore individuals who previously lacked access to the medium will now be covered by AIR’s FM service thanks to this expansion. A 35,000 sq km area will see an enhancement in coverage as a result.

The PM has always held a strong belief in the critical function that radio performs in reaching the general public. He initiated the Mann ki Baat show, which is now approaching its landmark 100th episode, in order to take advantage of the special strengths of the medium to reach out to the broadest audience possible.
