Revenue Min Pramila Mallick Gets Additional Responsibility Following Resignation of 2 Ministers

Bhubaneswar: Revenue Minister Pramila Mallick on Saturday got the additional charge of School and Mass Education and Labour departments. The concerned ministers of these departments resigned on Friday. CM Naveen Patnaik allocated their portfolios to Mallick.

School and Mass Education Minister Samir Ranjan Dash and Labour Minister Srikanta Sahu resigned from their posts. Odisha Assembly Speaker Bikram Keshari Arukha also resigned. This hinted at possible reshuffle in the Council of Ministers in Odisha.

In June 2022, Naveen Patnaik had made changes in his cabinet. A day before that reshuffle all the 20 ministers sent their resignations to the Chief Minister. It was the first incident in Odisha’s political history when all ministers were asked to submit their resignation.

Later the new council of ministers with 13 cabinet ministers and eight ministers of state with independent charge were sworn in by Governor Ganeshi Lal.
