Rs 2500 Air Ticket is Rs 25K as People Rush to Escape from Violence-Hit Manipur  

Imphal: Because of a skyrocketed rush of people to flee out of violence-hit Manipur, several airlines, including IndiGo and AirAsia, have increased their fares.

Normally air ticket between Imphal and Kolkata costs from Rs 2,500 to Rs 5,000 per person for a one-way journey. The fare is also applicable for a flight from Imphal to Guwahati.

But ever since the ethnic clashes in Manipur, the flight fares from Imphal to Kolkata hovers between Rs 12,000 and Rs 25,000 for a one-way journey. The one-way ticket price for the flight from Imphal to Guwahati has increased to Rs 15,000.

According to ticket booking websites such as MakeMyTrip, the one-way ticket prices from Imphal to Kolkata and from Imphal to Guwahati are hovering between Rs 10,000 and Rs 15,000 till May 12.

Some additional flights are being operated between Imphal and Kolkata.
