Rs 8 Crore Worth Rs 2000 Fake Notes Seized In Mumbai

Mumbai: A fake currency note printing racket was busted in Mumbai. Sleuths of the Thane Crime Branch of Maharashtra police seized a huge number of counterfeit Rs 2000 notes from two arrested persons, Ram Sharma (52) and Rajendra Raut (55). Both of them were nabbed from Palghar area of Thane.

Four hundred bundles of fake Rs 2000 notes were recovered from the possession of the arrested duo. According to police sources, seized fake currency notes were worth Rs 8 crore. The accused had printed the fake currency notes in an industrial unit in Palghar. Both of them were nabbed while they were transporting the fake notes to market in a car.

Police are searching for the third accused, who was also involved in the printing of these counterfeit Rs 2000 notes.
