Sambalpur Communal Violence: Curfew Lifted in Town

Sambalpur: The curfew restriction was lifted from the entire Sambalpur city. The curfew was lifted after the prohibitory orders were revoked from areas under Town and Dhanupalli police jurisdictions.

Curfew was lifted earlier from Khetrajpur, Ainthapalli, Bareipalli, and Sadar police station areas in two phases.

The decision to lift the curfew was taken after considerable improvement in the overall law and order situation that went for a toss following a clash during Hanuman Jayanti celebrations.

It is pertinent to mention here that internet services were suspended on April 13. A curfew was also imposed the next day due to a clash between two groups during the Hanuman Jayanti celebrations.
