Stock Market: Sensex & Nifty Witness Gains Amid Mixed Global Cues

New Delhi: The Sensex and the Nifty today witnessed gains of more than one and a half percent in the afternoon trade.

The Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) Sensex was trading above 58,900 points while the NSE Nifty was trading near the 17,350 level. Both stocks added amid mixed global cues.

The Sensex rose 976 points to trade at 58,936. The Nifty was also up by 274 points to trade at 17,354.

At the forex market, the rupee was trading at 82 rupees and 23 paise against the US dollar.
