Stray Elephant Calf Rescued From Keonjhar Forest

Keonjhar: An elephant calf that had strayed out of its herd was rescued by forest officials on Tuesday from the Krushnapur reserve forest under the Telkoi Range in Keonjhar district.

According to forest officials, this calf had strayed from its herd of 21 elephants on Monday evening. Forest officials made all efforts to reunite it with its herd, but were not successful in their efforts. At last, the stray elephant calf was rescued and sheltered at the Bandhanjhari forest beat house.

The rescued elephant calf is under the observation of a team from the Telkoi Wildlife Veterinary Unit as it is ailing and vomiting.
