Suspected Spy Pigeon Found at Paradip Coast to be Sent to CFSL

Bhubaneswar: The suspected spy pigeon found in a fishing trawler in Paradip Coast will be sent to Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL) in Kolkata or Hyderabad. The message written on the wings of the bird and devices seized from it will be examined there, informed by Jagatsinghpur SP Rahul PR.

Earlier, the mini camera and chip recovered from the pigeon with a spy camera found on the Paradip coast were sent to SFL Bhubaneswar.

On Wednesday, the pigeon with a spy camera attached to its leg was found on a fishing trawler off Paradip coast in Odisha’s Jagatsinghpur district.

According to reports, some fishermen found the pigeon perching on the trawler while fishing in the sea. The bird was later captured and handed over to the Marine police.

“The pigeon has been kept at the Marine police station at Paradip. Our veterinarians will examine it. We will send the bird to the State Forensic Science Laboratory (SFSL) for examination of the device attached to its leg. It is suspected that a camera has been attached to the pigeon’s leg. We will also seek experts’ help to find out if something is written on the feathers of the pigeon,” said Jagatsinghpur SP Rahul PR.
