‘SwasthGarbh’ App for Pregnant Women

New Delhi: A mobile App ‘SwasthGarbh’ has been developed by researchers of the Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee (IIT Roorkee) in collaboration with All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi to provide antenatal care and real-time medical support to pregnant Indian women.

Through this App, even rural women, who do not have doctors in their proximity; will be able to get medical advice. It is the first pregnancy App that enables instant access to doctor’s advice.

The App has been designed to alert pregnant women regarding their medical checkups and hospital visits and to keep a record of clinical tests and symptoms. The app will also send automatic notifications to the doctor and patient in case of any alarming situation.

This is a free App available on the Google Play Store.

As per the IIT Roorkee statement, the app assists pregnant women by ensuring timely antenatal care visits, recording every clinical test, and improving medication adherence. A research paper about ‘SwasthGarbh’ App has been published in the IEEE Journal of Biomedical and Health Informatics.
