Tiger Attack Sparks Panic Among Nuapada Villagers

Nuapada: A tiger reportedly killed a buffalo sparking panic among villagers of Jalmadora village under Sunabeda sanctuary in Odisha’s Nuapada district.

Wild animal attack has become common in the Nuapada district. The Forest Department on Saturday had cautioned the locals to use a PA system.

Earlier, a calf was killed by a leopard in Siliribahara village in Odisha’s Nuapada district triggering panic among villagers.

The villagers spotted the carcass of a calf near the village.

On being informed, a team from the forest department reached the spot and tried to assuage the panic-stricken people.

It is pertinent to note that for the last few days, leopard attacks is recorded continuously. On Thursday, while collecting firewood in the backyard of her house in Jalamdei village, a tiger came and pounced on her. As she did not return home until late at night, the family searched for him but could not find her. On Friday, a leopard killed a calf in Mohradihi village of the district.
