Tourism Industry is Showing Good Signs of Revival after Pandemic: Govt

New Delhi: Government has said that the tourism industry has shown good signs of revival after the Covid-19 pandemic.

According to the latest information received from the Bureau of Immigration, India has received more than 60 lakhs in Foreign Tourist Arrivals during 2022 as compared to around 11 lakhs in 2021. Tourism Ministry said it has taken several initiatives to give a boost to the tourism sector in the country and to increase foreign tourist arrivals.

The Ministry said the Centre is providing financial assistance to State Governments and Union Territories for the development of tourism-related infrastructure and facilities in the country.

A 24×7 Multi-Lingual Tourist Info-Helpline numbers 1800111363 and 1363 have been set up in twelve languages including ten international languages. The Ministry said the Dekho Apna Desh initiative has been launched with the objective of creating awareness among the citizens about the rich heritage and culture of the country.
