Trouble Rises For Singer Sourin Bhatt! Twin City Police Move Court To Issue NBW

Cuttack: Commissionerate Police moved the court for a non-bailable warrant (NBW) against singer Sourin Bhatt. Informing about it, Cuttack DCP Pinak Mishra said, Sourin was yet to be traced by police despite a lookout circular against him and freezing of his bank accounts.

“Cops had also visited his house twice but couldn’t find him. As the accused is not coming forward to cooperate in the investigation, we have planned to move the court to seek NBW against him,” said the DCP.

While two bank accounts of Sourin were frozen, a lookout circular was also issued against him by the police.

The Orissa High Court had earlier rejected his anticipatory bail plea in the case. He had moved the High Court seeking anticipatory bail claiming that the allegations levelled against him were baseless and it was done intentionally.

Sourin is accused of harassing a woman of Cuttack. The statement of the victim woman, who is a bank employee, was previously recorded by the Magistrate under Section 164 of the CrPC. The woman had lodged an FIR in this regard at Jagatpur police station and the case was later referred to Mahila PS in the city.
