Was Warren Hastings Learning to Make Kebab? Author Shares Hastings’ Personal Diary Pic

New Delhi: Author Ira Mukhoty recently took to Twitter to share a picture from a document that she claimed to be a part of Warren Hastings’ personal diary. The picture of a page of the diary showed a recipe for Kebab written on it.

In the tweet, she wrote,  “Warren Hastings’ kebab recipe Even as charges for corruption were about to be framed against him, Hastings was enjoying Nawab Asaf’s company at Lucknow in July 1784, learning how to make kebabs British library, Hastings’ private diary.”

Yet it is not confirmed whether the diary is actually of Warren Hastings’ or not. But netizens were impressed to see the rare piece of memorabilia. Warren Hastings served as the head of the Supreme Council of Bengal and was the first Governor-General of Bengal from 1772 to 1785.
