Woman Commits Suicide After Killing Two Sons in Odisha’s Keonjhar

Keonjhar: A woman allegedly killed her two sons and then committed suicide in Durukulia village under Champua police limits in Odisha’s Keonjhar district.

The deceased were identified as Khyanaprabha Nayak and her sons Johnson and Chandan.

According to sources, the woman strangled her sons to death while her husband had gone to the farmland. She later ended her life by hanging herself. Reportedly, the deceased’s six-year-old daughter Tapaswini returned from school and knocked on the door. As no one responded, she informed the neighbours.

Suspecting something wrong, some locals went to the roof of the house and removed a few tiles. They were shocked to see the two children lying dead while the woman was found hanging.

After being informed, police reached the spot, recovered the bodies for autopsy and started to probe.

The reason behind such an extreme step is yet to be ascertained.
