Rudraprayag: A recent incident at the sacred Kedarnath Temple in Uttarakhand has caused a stir online, as a video capturing a woman showering currency notes on the Shivling inside the temple’s sanctum sanctorum has gone viral. The inappropriate behaviour depicted in the footage, which resembles a celebratory act in a dance bar or wedding function, has drawn criticism from viewers. The temple authorities have swiftly responded, urging the police to take immediate action to address the matter. As of now, the identity of the woman remains unknown.
The controversial video was recorded in close proximity to the revered Shivling within the Kedarnath Temple premises, where photography and videography are strictly prohibited. The footage showcases the woman engaging in an inappropriate act as she showers currency notes on the Shivling, an act that has been met with widespread disapproval online.
Temple Authorities Demand Police Action: The Shri Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee has released an official statement addressing the viral video. Temple President Ajendra Ajay has expressed his concern and called upon the police authorities to take swift and stringent action in response. Ajay has already reached out to the District Magistrate and Superintendent of Police in Rudraprayag, urging them to promptly address the matter and bring the culprits to justice.
