Wood Mafias Attack 7 Forest Officials During Raid In Odisha’s Mayurbhanj

Mayurbhanj: At least seven forest officials were attacked by a group of wood mafias in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district. The officials were severely injured in the attack.

According to sources, a team of forest officials had gone inside the Similipal Reserve for patrolling yesterday evening. During patrolling, the officials found some wood mafias illegally transporting sal woods from the forest.

When the forest officials tried to arrest them,  around 40-50 wood smugglers including several women reportedly attacked the forest team leaving them severely injured.

Following this, the forest officials filed a case at Jashipur Police station in this regard. The police have started to probe the matter.
