Youth Slits Throat of +2 Girl Coming out of Exam Hall in Gunupur of Rayagada Dist

Gunupur: A youth made a lethal attack on a girl from class 12 at Gunupur in the Rayagada district on Thursday. He allegedly slit the throat of the victim while she was coming out of the examination center after appearing for the higher secondary board exam.

This incident occurred near the Droupadi College of Gunupur. According to eyewitnesses, the assailant was waiting for the girl to come out of the examination center at the college. When the girl came out, the accused rushed to her and slit her throat with a sharp weapon.

The victim was immediately rushed to Padampur hospital. She was later shifted to MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur as her condition deteriorated.

Police have taken the youth into custody for interrogation. An investigation is on to ascertain the reason behind this gruesome broad daylight lethal attack on the girl. One-sided love is suspected to be the reason behind the attack.
