ASO Exam Row: Orissa HC Orders Stay On Final Merit List Publication

Cuttack: In a significant ruling regarding the ASO recruitment exams 2022 administered by the Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC), the Orissa High Court today issued a stay order for the release of the candidates’ final mark lists.

The High Court has nevertheless given the commission permission to carry out the computer competency test.

The HC also asserted that the OPSC cannot publish the results without the High Court’s permission.

Notably, the results of the ASO examination published by the OPSC earlier in November drew the exasperation of thousands of unsuccessful candidates.

Since the publication of the result, many aspirants who claimed to have done well in the written examination but did not make it to the list had raised questions about transparency in the selection process.

After the unsuccessful candidates of the Assistant Section Officer (ASO) exam hit the streets in protest, the Chairman of Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC), Satyajit Mohanty had clarified that there have been no irregularities in the recruitment process.
