Bengal Couple, Driver Killed In Balasore Road Mishap

Balasore: Three persons were killed after a speeding SUV hit an oil tanker and a car in Balasore district on Monday wee hours.

The deceased persons include a couple, who was on their way from West Bengal’s Hooghly to Puri in the SUV.

The incident took place on National Highway 16 near Jamujhadi village under Simulia police limits of the district.

While travelling, the vehicle suddenly hit the oil tanker near Jamujhadi and subsequently hit a car.

While three persons, identified as Shankar Rao, his wife Parbati Das, and the vehicle driver were killed on the spot, four persons were also injured in the accident.

They have been admitted to Soro Hospital.

On being informed, police reached the spot, seized the mangled vehicle, and started a probe into the matter.
