Bhubaneswar-Kalahandi Flight Operations to Begin from August 31, Check Schedule and Fares

Bhubaneswar: Utkela Airport in Kalahandi has received approval from the DGCA, marking a significant milestone. A trial run was conducted by an IndiaOne Air aircraft on the Bhubaneswar-Kalahandi route in preparation for its official launch on August 31.

The scheduled flight’s itinerary is as follows: departing at 7:15 AM from Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) in Bhubaneswar and arriving at Utkela Airfield at 8:25 AM. The return journey will commence from Utkela at 8:50 AM, landing in Bhubaneswar at 10 AM.

The inaugural flight, set for August 31, will be virtually flagged off by the Union Civil Aviation Minister. The event will be graced by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Odisha Commerce and Transport Minister Tukuni Sahu, and Kalahandi MP Basanta Panda.

The successful trial run of the aircraft was confirmed by BPIA Director Prasanna Pradhan. The Bhubaneswar-Utkela route will offer an introductory fare of Rs 999 per passenger. Operating in this sector, IndiaOne Air will utilize a nine-seater aircraft for the service.

The green light for flight operations at Utkela Airport was granted by the DGCA on August 7. The airport’s proximity to Bhawanipatna, just 20 km away from the district headquarters, adds to its strategic significance.
