Bihar Man Found Dead In Open Drain In Odisha’s Puri

Puri: A daily wage worker was found dead in an open drain in Penthakata DAG Colony on Thursday morning. The man, identified as Ranjit Pandey (35) from Motihari district in Bihar, was working on a construction project near the drain.

According to reports, locals spotted the body floating in the drain early on Thursday and promptly alerted the Sea Beach Police. The authorities recovered the body and initiated postmortem procedures.

Ranjit, a daily wage worker, was engaged in installing wire fencing near the drain before the unfortunate incident occurred. It is suspected that he accidentally fell into the drain and met his demise. Notably, Ranjit was found wearing hand gloves when his body was retrieved.

The recent death has added urgency to their demands for covering these open drains, which they claim have been responsible for multiple fatalities.
