Case Lodged Against Odisha Labour Minister; BJP Alleges Police Of Foul Play

Bhubaneswar: A group of BJP officials met the Twin City Police Commissioner Saumendra Priyadarshi and alerted him of the slow progress of the inquiry into the complaint made by a lady against Labour Minister Srikanta Sahu today.

The leaders of the Saffron party also questioned whether there was any pressure on the police and why there was a delay in action against the Minister.

They even claimed that by failing to file any charges against the Labour Minister, the police were protecting him.

However, Labour Minister Sahu did not respond to this.

Notably, on April 13 at around 11 AM, Sanjukta Mahal (the lady complainant) visited the Mahila Police Station in Bhubaneswar. She was taken by the police to the Capital Hospital in Bhubaneswar for examination at around 4 PM. Around 8:30 PM, the cops brought her back to the police station. At that point, she told the reporters that she had filed a complaint against Odisha Labour Minister, Srikanta Sahu.

Mahal even mentioned her confidence in Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and her hopes for getting justice.
