CM Naveen Assures District Status To Padampur By Year-End

Padampur: During the Padampur by-election, BJD supremo Naveen Patnaik had promised district status to the poll-bound subdivision. And proving his words today, Odisha Chief Minister announced that Padampur will get district status within a year.

The Chief Minister made the announcement while addressing a public meeting at Jharabandha during his visit to the Padampur Assembly constituency today.

Aside from the announcement, the Chief Minister inaugurated a number of welfare projects in the area. He disbursed financial assistance of Rs 1.23 crore to Self Help Groups (SHGs) members in the region.

“My government has accepted the suggestions given by the people for development. Accordingly, the Paikamal PHC has been upgraded into a CHC. The government has sanctioned Rs 90 crore for various developmental projects in Padampur. It will become a district within one year. I keep my promises. I believe in action, not words,” said Patnaik.
