Patient Attendant Injured as Concrete Chunk Falls from Ceiling at Keonjhar Hospital

Anandapur: A distressing incident occurred at Anandapur Sub-Divisional Hospital in Odisha’s Keonjhar district on Sunday, where an attendant of a patient sustained injuries after being struck by a large chunk of concrete plaster that fell from the ceiling.

The unfortunate incident took place in close proximity to the hospital’s OPD area. Local residents and relatives of patients have pointed fingers at the substandard quality of construction work as the cause behind this mishap.

The identity of the injured man has not yet been disclosed. He was accompanying a patient to the Sub-Divisional hospital when the concrete fragment unexpectedly plummeted onto his head, resulting in injuries. This incident has left the community deeply disturbed, as they argue that such accidents have become all too common in the hospital.

Expressing their anger and concern, the local residents have urged the authorities to be more diligent in monitoring the quality of construction and repair activities. Their plea is driven by the aim to prevent similar mishaps from occurring in the future.
