Jagatsinghpur Youth Booked For Blackmailing Women Through Fake Facebook Accounts

Rajnikant Rout, a resident of Gobarikula under Naugaon police station limits in the district has been named as the culprit.

According to the information, Rout had created a number of fake Facebook pages and used them to interact with girls and women there. He used to download the women’s images and videos from their profiles and morph them after they accepted his friend requests. Later, he threatened to post the women’s images on Facebook unless they paid him money after sending them the morphed videos and photos.

Rout was the subject of multiple complaints, the result of which led police to file various charges and start a manhunt. The suspect was arrested by the police on Monday and forwarded to court.

A senior officer informed that additional investigations are ongoing in the matter.
