Fake ‘Mo School Abhiyan’ Website Used to Dupe Job Seekers in Bhubaneswar; 3 Arrested

Bhubaneswar: Three individuals have been arrested by the Commissionerate Police for their involvement in a fraudulent job scheme in Odisha’s capital. The names of the arrested suspects are Amar Samal, Madan Naag, and Raigulu Patra, as confirmed by ACP Gautam Kisan of Zone 5.

The arrest took place in the Bharatpur locality of the city, leading to the confiscation of incriminating evidence. Among the seized items are ₹2 lakh in cash, two laptops, a desktop, 13 mobile phones, counterfeit seals, bank-related materials, and forged documents, according to an official statement.

The accused trio executed their scheme by creating a sham website under the guise of the government’s “Mo School Abhiyan.” The website featured fraudulent advertisements for positions such as data entry operators, office assistants, and peons, all supposedly under the government initiative. Police investigations revealed that the suspects solicited money from job seekers with the promise of securing positions within the program.

The Mo School Abhiyan authorities reported the fraud to the police, prompting action. Aswathy S, the Commissioner-cum-Secretary of the School and Mass Education department, also brought the matter to the attention of the Commissionerate Police.
