Mystery Shrouds Death of Female Student Found Hanging in Odisha School

Malkangiri: A female student from Ginipali village under Motu police station in Odisha’s Malkangiri district was found hanging in mysterious circumstances within the premises of Madhusudan High School’s girls’ hostel. The victim, a Class IX student, belonged to the scheduled tribe community and hailed from a family of limited financial means, with her parents working as farm laborers.

The incident came to light when the student, who had not attended morning classes, was found to have locked her room from the inside by her roommates upon their return to the hostel. Despite repeated attempts to gain entry, the door remained unopened, prompting the roommates to alert hostel authorities.

Upon investigation, teachers, using a partially opened window, discovered the girl hanging from the ceiling fan in her room. The Motu police station responded to the notification, sending the body for post-mortem examination. While a case of unnatural death has been registered, the cause remains unconfirmed as police commence their investigation. Authorities have informed the deceased student’s parents of the tragic incident.
