Fire Breaks Out On New Delhi-Darbhanga Express: Quick Action Averts Major Tragedy

Etawah (UP): A fire erupted on the New Delhi-Darbhanga Superfast Express near UP’s Etawah on Wednesday, impacting three coaches and resulting in minor injuries for some passengers, according to officials. The incident occurred as the train passed through Sarai Bhupat station, where the station master observed smoke in a sleeper coach.

Prompt action was taken as the station master promptly stopped the train, alerting the driver and guard about the smoke. Passengers were swiftly evacuated from the affected sleeper coach, with some opting to jump off the train. Reports suggest that the train was carrying more passengers than its official capacity.

The fire near Sarai Bhupat Railway station in Uttar Pradesh has been successfully brought under control. The three burned coaches have been detached from the train. Preliminary investigations by the police point to a potential short circuit as the cause of the fire.
