UP Man Thrashed To Death By Wife’s Relatives Over Wedding Gift Dispute

Barabanki: A heated argument over a wedding gift tragically escalated to murder in Uttar Pradesh’s Barabanki district on Tuesday.

The victim, identified as Chandra Prakash Mishra, was allegedly beaten to death by his wife’s relatives following a disagreement about a gift for his sister’s upcoming wedding.

According to police reports, the incident unfolded after a dispute erupted between Chandra and his wife, Kshama Mishra, regarding the wedding gift. Chandra reportedly intended to present his sister with an LED TV and a gold ring, but Kshama disapproved.

The situation turned violent when Kshama allegedly called her brother and other relatives to the house. Police Circle Officer (CO) Fatehpur, Dr. Binu Singh, stated that Chandra confronted the relatives upon their arrival, questioning their involvement. In response, the group is accused of brutally attacking Chandra with sticks, inflicting severe injuries.

Authorities arrived at the scene after receiving information about the assault and rushed Chandra to the hospital. Sadly, he succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment.

Five individuals, including Kshama Mishra and her brother, have been detained by police for questioning. A thorough investigation is underway to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the incident.
