Maharashtra Woman Kills 2 Children To Elope With Lover, Arrested: Cops

Alibaug: A 25-year-old woman has been arrested for allegedly smothering her two minor children in Raigad district, Maharashtra. Police believe she committed the crime to pursue a relationship with another man.

The incident occurred on March 31st in Kihim village. The children, a five-year-old girl and a three-year-old boy were found unconscious and rushed to the Alibaug Civil Hospital, where they were pronounced dead.

The Raigad Local Crime Branch launched an investigation into the mysterious circumstances surrounding the children’s deaths. Their probe led them to suspect the mother, Shital Pole.

According to the cops, Pole was involved in an extramarital affair with a man she knew before her marriage. Investigators believe frequent arguments between Pole and her husband stemmed from this relationship.

Police allege that Pole utilized a stole to suffocate her children.

The accused has been arrested and charged under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Following her appearance in Raigad district court, she has been remanded into police custody for seven days.
