Maoists Kill Youth Alleging Him To Be A Police Informer

Bhawanipatna: An innocent villager was murdered by Maoists in Kalhanadi district last night. This murder occurred in the Jugasaipatna gram panchayat under Bhawanipatna Sadar police station limits. The ultras alleged that the murdered youth was a police informant.

The deceased was identified as Lalabati Majhi. According to local villagers aware of the situation, Majhi was recently put under scanner by the Red Rebels who suspected him to be helping the police. It was suspected that Maoists were tracking him. His dead body was recovered near the village today morning.

Maoists put up posters near the body. Through these posters, the villagers were threatened to stop acting against the Maoists or else their days will be numbered. The posters were in the name of BGN Divisional Committee of the CPI (Maoists).

It may be noted that two Maoists were killed in the adjoining Bolangir district yesterday during an exchange of fire with the security forces.
