Odisha Final Voter List 2024: Over 3.3 Crore Voters Enrolled, Including 7.5 Lakh First Time Voters

Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s Chief Electoral Officer, Nikunja Bihari Dhal on Friday announced the final voters’ list for 2024 following the completion of the Special Summary Revision (SSR) of electoral rolls.

The state now boasts an impressive 3,32,36,360 eligible voters, demonstrating a robust and inclusive electoral landscape.

Breakdown by Demographics:

  • Gender: The revised list showcases a significant gender balance, with 1,68,50,949 male voters and 1,63,82,031 female voters, translating to a commendable gender ratio of 972 – the highest in the past five years.
  • Age: Young voters (18-19 years) make up a promising 2.27% of the electorate, with 7,54,946 individuals registered. Senior citizens (80 years and above) also see strong representation, accounting for 2.06% of voters with 6,85,048 registrations.
  • Other: The final list includes 4,57,821 registered voters with disabilities (PwDs) and 3,380 transgender voters, ensuring their voices are heard.

Key Updates:

  • Additions: The SSR process saw a noteworthy surge in voter registrations, with a total of 12,97,954 new voters added to the list.
  • Removals: To maintain accuracy, 7,16,807 names were removed from the list, ensuring the electoral roll reflects the current demographic landscape.
