Lightning Strikes Claim 5 Lives in Odisha; CM Majhi Announces Ex-Gratia

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic deaths of five individuals due to lightning strikes in Bargarh and Balangir districts on Wednesday.

Three people lost their lives and two others were critically injured in the Padampur block of Bargarh. Meanwhile, two fatalities and one critical injury were reported in the Khaprakhol area of Balangir district.

The Chief Minister extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and announced an ex-gratia of ₹4 lakh for the next of kin of each deceased. He also directed the district administration to provide free and adequate medical treatment to those critically injured.
