Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik Inaugurates 2nd International Craft Summit in Jajpur

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik virtually inaugurated the Second International Craft Summit in Jajpur on Friday, emphasizing the state’s rich artistic heritage. He highlighted Jajpur’s potential as a tourist hub, combining religious, Buddhist tourism, and industrial growth. Patnaik stressed the government’s commitment to global tourism development, job creation, and investor attraction.

Acknowledging Jajpur’s cultural richness, he praised local artists for their avant-garde contributions to paintings, architecture, sculpture, and handicrafts. The Chief Minister showcased Odisha’s 5T Model of governance, emphasizing inclusive development.

Underlining Odisha’s craftsmanship, Patnaik mentioned the state’s record in receiving National Awards, including Padma Awards, reflecting its artistic excellence. He spoke about the spiritual significance of Jagannath culture, symbolizing values of religious tolerance and cultural diversity.

Rural Development Minister Priti Ranjan Ghadai highlighted Jajpur’s indigenous skills, positioning it as the Tussar Corridor of India. Handloom Minister Reeta Sahu emphasized government support, including training facilities for local artisans.

The event, attended by MLAs, National Monument Authority Head Professor Kishor Basa, Bollywood Actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui, and international delegates, aims to elevate Odisha’s artistic reputation on the global stage.
