Odisha Cyclist Swasti Singh Clinches Gold at 37th National Games in Goa

Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s cycling sensation, Swasti Singh, secured another triumph at the 37th National Games in Goa, clinching the gold in the challenging 75 km Mass Start (Women) Road Cycling event. The 22-year-old, honoured with the Eklabya Puraskar, had previously seized the Women’s Elite 90 km gold at the 74th National Road Cycling Championship in Shirdi, Maharashtra.

In addition to Swasti’s stellar performance, Odisha athletes excelled on November 8, with both the men’s and women’s kho-kho teams earning silver medals. The lawn bowls category witnessed Kailash Majhi, Sourav Ranjan Maharana, Tarini Prasad Nayak, and Narasingha Rana securing bronze in the Men’s Fours event, while Lalit Sharma claimed bronze in Men’s Singles.

As the National Games 2023 approached its conclusion, Odisha stood 16th in the standings, boasting a total of 58 medals—10 gold, 18 silver, and 30 bronze.
