Power Line Mishap Halts Puri-Howrah Vande Bharat Express Midway

Jajpur: The recently launched Puri-Howrah Vande Bharat Express faced an obstacle near Baitarani Road station in Jajpur on Sunday due to power disruptions caused by a norwester rainstorm. The high-speed train was compelled to halt between Baitarani Road and Manjuri Road stations from 4.30 pm onwards.

According to a report from the East-Coast Railway, the train came to a stop due to damage to the overhead wire caused by the storm near Bhadrak. Additionally, a large tree had fallen onto the track, further delaying the train. Efforts were underway to address the issues, and the train was expected to resume its journey by 7.30 PM.

Biswajeet Sahu, the Chief Public Relation Officer (CPRO) of the East Coast Railway said that the thunderstorm had uprooted a tree, leading to damage to the overhead power line as the train passed through that section. The railway engineers were already on-site, working to either repair the damaged section or move the train forward to resume its journey.

Sahu assured that their team was present at the location, attending to the stranded passengers. Repair work was progressing swiftly, and they anticipated the train service to resume within an hour.
